I live in Sector 7 of the Enor City, or rather what was left of it, working as a scavenger for a man I've never met before. All we were given was a name, Leno, a leader of a crime syndicate is what I've heard from the other scavengers. I didn't care, I just had to survive. What I do is a tough job, we try to scrounge up what we hope might be of use. In the hopes of being able to exchange it for even just the smallest piece of meat. And I do what I can to survive, even if it meant stealing items from the others. Or worse. There's been a lot of accidents in Sector 7 lately, lots of boys dying in the middle of a raid. They were a bunch of newbie idiots trying to strike it big. Leno had sent a new shipment of kids again a couple of days ago, which meant more competition. Honestly, that asshole just loved to make life more difficult for the rest of us.
"Oh well, who cares? Let's just hope those dumb shits don't mess with me or my equipment like you did. Isn't that right, Dennis?" The spikes of my aluminum bat scrapes against the concrete floor as I began to walk away from the window. My bloodied boot kicks at the side of the sobbing boy in front of me, curled into a fetal position. I sneer down at him in disdain, "They'll regret it, won't they?"
The bat comes swinging down, spikes lodging into Dennis's head.
"Just like you did."
